Tall, standing at around 6'2'' and reasonably well built. Adrian has twisting horns that seem to come from around his temples. He also has a mouth full of sharp teeth that have been known to greatly unsettle people when he smiles. There was a narrow plate of the same material that follows his spine down his back, and then lengthens into a tail that comes down to about his knees.
The tail is flexible, and capable of motion but Adrian does not have concious control over it. It used to be slightly longer and had a snakehead on the end of it. Aforementioned snake head bit one of his handlers and the handler had the labs remove it. It still moves like it's a separate living being, somehow, but the head never regenerated. Adrian prefers not to think about it.
Adrian's hair is black and kept reasonably short, with it being no longer than chin length at any point. His eyes are a light blue in color. He has a few burn scars from training incidents over the years.
Adrian is something of a mess. He's got a solid base of morality and a sense of right and wrong that he doesn't tolerate compromising for really any reason. It's difficult to say why he clings so tightly to that morality, he just... does. The biggest reason for that, it turns out, is because it's one of the few things that the Republic hasn't been able to take from them, and Adrian doesn't want to lose the last piece of who he is.
On the other hand, he's got a temper a mile wide, and pushing the wrong buttons or seemingly using the wrong words can send him into a fury that, unfortunately, often ends in flames and his being slightly out of control.
He's afraid of thunder, and at some point this morphed from a dislike of the chip shock to an absolute terror of it. Which, unfortunately, generally means if the chip is used, it has to be used far enough to cripple him before things settle down at all. And every time a handler uses his chip to forcibly control him Adrian's trust of them erodes a little further.
He tends to keep to himself, not really trusting himself to be around others and not really trusting them either. Adrian is also not known for being a very skilled liar.
So Adrian was born, to a small family - a low ranking republic member and his wife. They were somewhat ok, money wise, for the first part of Adrian's life. His father was gone a lot, doing various work for the betterment of the dome, or at least that's what his mother told him.
Unfortunately at some point while he was gone, he was killed. And that was... that, really. His mother did the best she could to raise him and his little sister, taking the best care of him possible. But in the end, it wouldn't be quite enough.
Especially not when Adrian got sick. Adri himself isn't really sure what was wrong with him - his files may have more details on the matter, but they've never been told to him, and he never really asked. Perhaps it was something as simple as untreated pneumonia gone horribly wrong. In the end, it didn't matter what it was, all that mattered was what happened to him. In desperation, and out of sheer unwillingness to watch her son waste away before her eyes, his mother gave him over to the Republic.
They, of course, fused him with an Other and Adrian is what came out of that. Life changed drastically, of course, when he stopped being a person, and to say that he's had some trouble adjusting is putting it kindly, perhaps. He hasn't gotten along with most of his handlers so far, but he's been surviving. ... Though clearly not without trouble, given he's been re-classified as a Beta.
Recently Adrian has been reassigned again. He's not exactly excited for the prospect of a new handler but he's just along for the ride, and he knows it.
Adrian has an Other that hangs around him by the name of Amber. She's around the size of a large house cat with cream colored fur and very large ears, hovering slightly over her back are small wings that don't actually support her in flight.
